Salvation is so much
More than a religious crutch
So much more than such and such
More than sayin’ a sinners prayer
More than blowin’ hot air
More than emotional tears
And hell stained fears
More than cryin’ eyes
And sorrowful lies
More than stuffy noses at the altar
And dippin’ in baptismal waters
More than playin’ church
More than bein’ first
To dig inside your pocket or purse
More than givin’ tithes
Or one’s offerin’ size
More than a shout and dance
More than pomp and circumstance.
Just sit back, relax
Let’s get to the facts
This is a direct attack
On all religious smack.
Oh! I used to talk a good talk
But my crippled legs couldn’t walk.
I used to speak religious smack
All the while, my mind was wacked
I had no power
So I would simply cower
Behind a religious mask
Pretendin’ was my favorite task.
I searched out religion
Repeatin’ my decision
To search for salvation
At every church station
I could possibly find
While the devil controlled my mind.
Could no one help me?
Could no one see
My painfully dismal reality?
I knew all the right words
Lookin’ back it seems absurd.
Salvation standin’ so close
Yet, I remained a withered up rose
With little life, but a whole lot of thorns
But oh! How I wanted to be reborn!
So close, yet so far away
So I just continued to pray
The best way I knew how
Even when no one else was around
To hear my lamenting sound.
I did NOT find salvation
In a church denomination
I did NOT find salvation
At ANY church station
I found HIM in the strangest place
Cuz mine was a SERIOUS case
I found Him while seeking His face
And religion was finally erased!
I found HIM in RELATIONSHIP
A long distance trip
Out of a terrible maze
That took YEARS longer than days.
I could not find my own way
Cuz my mind was so prone to stray.
So, God sent me a spiritual Mother
That could PRAY like none other!
Yes, God sent me a mentor
None other than God could have sent her
So that I could finally enter
The Door of Life
That led me out of religious strife.
It took DEEP intercession
For me to taste of Salvation’s blessin’!
Through prayer, the chains were broken.
Finally, from death I awoken
To find True Salvation
And join a Kingdom nation!
Salvation is so much
More than a religious crutch
So much more than such and such
SALVATION IS RELATIONSHIP
A long distance trip
Out of a terrible maze
That often takes YEARS longer than days.
Do you know HE
Who died on a tree?
I intercede
Oh, how I plead
For those who desperately need
To grow
To know
Salvation is so much
More than a religious crutch

SALVATION IS RELATIONSHIP

Salvation is all about JESUS
Not about people pleasers
Salvation is all about JESUS,
The True Salvation Station
Not about church denomination
Cuz Jesus IS the One and Only
Restorer of the lost and lonely
SALVATION IS RELATIONSHIP
A long distance trip
Through a Wonderful DOOR
To Life Eternity and religious sorrow no more!
