Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
The center of the Earth
Full of sorrow and mirth
You’re the apple of Mine eye
For which I humbly died

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
I hear your cry
Day and night
I feel your pain
As you cry out for rain

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
I feel the quake of your laughter
The morning after
The latter rain pours down
Washing away your lamenting sound

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
The bearer of glory and shame
I have called you by name
You are My chosen dwelling place,
And you dwell in My embrace

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
Of all the cities of the Earth
From which I could have given birth
I have chosen you alone
Through My anguish to atone

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
Of all the cities of the Earth
From which I could have given birth
I have chosen you alone
To bear my throne

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
The center of the Earth
Full of sorrow and mirth
You’re the apple of Mine eye
For which I humbly died

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
Where many seeds of prayer were sown,
It appears only weeds have grown.
Yet, within your borders
There lies a Divine order

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
Within your gates
Angelic hosts await
The commandment of the Lord
To wage war with their fiery swords

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
It is time for God’s glory to descend
That your sorrow may end
Through a Divine measure of praise
And worship of the Ancient of Days

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
It is time for God’s glory to arise
Opening your blinded eyes
Through a Divine measure of intercession
And repentant confession

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
May your streets be filled with adoration
Till singing and dancing spread throughout the nations
May your gates be filled with prayer
Till God’s presence and glory fills the air

Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem
The center of the Earth
Full of sorrow and mirth
You’re the apple of Mine eye
For which I humbly died
