Just as I AM

1 Corinthians 13:12 – “For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection [of reality as in a riddle or enigma], but then [when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face!  Now I know in part (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood [by God].”

Just as I AM
When you look into the mirror
What do you see?
Do you see
The dust from whence mankind was formed
Or do you see a reflection of ME?
Do you see the process
Of My transforming work
Maturing you to be
A little bit more like Me
Day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment,
As I prepare you, reveal Myself to you, and reform you,
Reconciling you to My Word, My Will and My Way?
Will you take the time to praise Me
That I can raise thee
From the murk, and miry clay?
Will you take the time to pray
Entering into My presence
With Holy reverence?
Will you take the time to enter into Me
The Living Word, which transcends all space and time?
Come now and let us dine together
At the banqueting table
With all those who are willing and able
To believe
And receive
ME,
Just as I AM.
Now look into the mirror again,
That your sight I may mend.
For only when you see
ME,
Just as I AM
Will you be set free
To become
Intimately one
With your Creator and Lord.
So, I come with My Sword
To sever spirit and soul
That you may know
ME,
Just as I AM.
So, I come to deliver you
From your blinded sight
Shedding My Light
Into your darkest night
That all things be made right
That your reflection be made new
And you be able to see
ME,
Just as I AM
Living and breathing
Within
And through you.

Habakkuk's Vision Revealed

Habakkuk’s Vision Revealed

Oh watchman on the wall
Standing so tall
What do you see?
What has Yahweh shown thee?

I cry out day and night
For Yahweh to show His might
And His power
In this, Judah’s most dreadful hour
Yet, I see iniquity triumph again and again
Oh Lord God, please tell me when…
Will you answer my cry?
Will I see justice prevail before I die?
Why do You show me such ill gotten gain
That causes my heart such pain?
Your Torah is not followed
Nor Your Holy Name hallowed
I will cry out to You as long as my soul remains awake
For there is so much here in Judah at stake.
Your watchman awaits Your reply
May my request not be denied!

Oh watchman on the wall
Standing so tall
Look and see
All that I, Yahweh, will show thee.

Though unexpected indeed
My judgment comes with God speed
It comes through a nation
I will raise up and hasten
To terrorize Judah with violence
That shall overcome their stubborn defiance
Though they honor their god
For the power of their rod
It is I, Yahweh, who shall use the Chaldeans
Yes, the Babylonian heathens
To execute my judgment on Judah
True that!
For I sit high and look low
To execute judgment on My friend and My foe
You are My watchman from whom I hide not
The judgment My righteous hand shall wrought.

Oh watchman on the wall
Standing so tall
How shall you respond
To the answer of Yahweh, your God?

Oh Everlasting Holy One
There is none
That compares to Thee
To You every nation bows their knee.
You are so Holy
The One and the Only
Yet, shall You allow Judah to be stricken
By a nation that is even more wicked
Than they?
To such mystery what shall I say?
I seek to understand
The wisdom of Your plan
So, I will stand tall
At my post on the wall
I will wait to hear and see
The wisdom Yahweh shall speak through me.

Oh watchman on the wall
Standing so tall
Look and see
All that I, Yahweh, will show thee.

Write the vision down
Let this volume be bound
On tablets to be read
Let it be known what Yahweh has said
This vision speaks of the end
Words of Yahweh that shall not bend
Wait with assurance
Wait with endurance
For you shall surely see
The vision that I show thee
Oh watchman on the wall, hold fast!
For the soul of the proud won’t last
But the just shall live long
Singing his faithful praise song
The just shall shine in the darkest night
Awaiting Yahweh to make all things right.

Oh watchman on the wall
Standing so tall
Look and see
All that I, Yahweh, will show thee.

Oh watchman, you are given Yahweh’s vision
And power to overcome all foolish derision
Woe to those who are drunk with greed
For you shall reap your sown seed
Woe to those who seek unjust gain
For you shall wallow in shame
Woe to those driven to violence
For vanity you labor in defiance
As the water covers the Sea
So shall Earth be filled with Yahweh’s glory
Woe to those full of immorality
You shall drink the shame of your abnormality
Woe to those who craft inanimate idols
And perform vain religious recitals
For Yahweh sees all in His Holy dwelling place
So, let the Earth be silent before His face.

Oh watchman on the wall
Standing so tall
How shall you proclaim Yahweh’s vision
And silence all fools blinded by derision?

Oh Yahweh, Your mercy I seek
Along with Your gloriously just feats
When I heard Your judgment, I trembled in fear
Even more when I saw Your terrible vision draw near
There is no God like Thee
You have caused me to see
The sovereignty of Your plan
And the wisdom of the works of Your hand
Though no fruit remain in the land
Due to the judgment Your righteousness demands
Yet in You, Yahweh, I shall rejoice
Yes, joy shall be my choice
For You are the God of my salvation
The strength of the nations
As the deer, on high places you cause me to stride
And in You alone I shall abide.

The Measure of a Life

The Measure of a Life

Oh Lord, as I seek your face
I am undone by the magnitude of your grace
And my praise
Is raised
To a new height
By Your Spirit, not by might.
Yes!  By your grace,
I am catapulted to a new place
In the Spirit realm
And I overwhelmed.
As I seek your face
I am undone by the magnitude of your grace

“He who is forgiven much
Loves much”
I’m not talkin’ ‘bout usin’ grace as a crutch
Got a lot of ‘dat goin’ on,
But dat’s not the soapbox I’m on
I’m talkin’ ‘bout redemption
That reaches further than “honorable mention”
Spiritual ribbons, trophies, accolades
Or even the lucky ace of spades

I’m talkin’ ‘bout a true testimony
Not just a script dat’s phony
Like, “I thank God I’m saved, sanctified…”
Cause the truth gets ya’ so tongue tied
“And filled with the Holy Ghost”
Knowin’ your full of da’ host
Of hell
But da’ religious folk can’t even tell
To them, all is well.
As long as ya’ keep up your outward appearance,
There’s no interference
With your spiritual façade
And the only ones NOT fooled are you and God.
Has anyone BUT me ever been so UNsaved
That ya’ knew ya’ were no more than a slave
Such a slave to stinkin’ thinkin’
That ya’ just keep sinkin’
Lower and lower into your own self-dug pit
And not even your religious wit
Can get ya’ out
Does anybody KNOW what I’m talkin’ ‘bout?
I’m talkin’ ‘bout a one-sided rescue
When God decides to bless you
IN SPITE OF, not because of you,
Cause you had no clue WHAT to do
And just in that moment of utter despair
God reached down with tender loving care
I tell ya’ grace just isn’t fair
Yet, I wouldn’t DARE
Complain,
Cause my life will never be the same
No, I may never rise to greatness in men’s eyes,
Yet, I’ll never again believe the devil’s lies
Cause I’ve been kissed by mercy and grace
And I’ve entered a journey of seeking God’s face
You see,
There’s no greater reality
And no greater bliss
Than knowing this:
“He who is forgiven much
Loves much”
For the measure of a life
Is found in life’s greatest strife,
Which is the battle of surrender
To the Great Heart Mender
To be overwhelmed by God’s grace
And to longingly behold His face
We can’t afford to mis-
Construe this
The measure of a life is this:
To love much,
‘Cause we’ve been forgiven much.

Oh Lord, as I seek your face
I am undone by the magnitude of your grace
And my praise
Is raised
To a new height
By Your Spirit, not by might.
Yes!  By your grace,
I am catapulted to a new place
In the Spirit realm
And I overwhelmed.
As I seek your face
I am undone by the magnitude of your grace
